ALL TRIPURA STATE KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, in collaboration with the KarateDo Association of Tripura, successfully hosted the All Tripura State Karate Championship 2025 on 14th and 15th June in the school auditorium. The event marked a significant milestone in the promotion of martial arts among the youth of Tripura, drawing over 400 young karatekas from across the state, including Agartala, Udaipur, Dharmanagar, Ambassa, and remote hill regions. The school hall was transformed into a professional karate arena with four tatami mats, where Kata and Kumite competitions were held across various age and weight categories for both boys and girls. The championship was inaugurated on 14th June in the afternoon with a colourful ceremony. Mr. Subodh Debbarma, Hon’ble MLA of Charilam, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, and Mr. Suhel Debbarma, Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs, TTAADC, was the Guest of Honour. The programme was further graced by Mr. Mustak Miah, General Secretary of the KarateDo Association of Tripura, Fr. K.K. Joseph (Rector), Fr. K.A. Thomas (Vice-pricipal), teachers, parents, students, and local dignitaries. The inaugural began with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by a karate demonstration by senior black-belt athletes that inspired the participants. Throughout the two days, the championship saw intense competition conducted under the supervision of certified WKF referees. St. Xavier’s NCC and Scout volunteers managed hydration booths, medical aid, and athlete support. The audience, comprising parents, teachers, and villagers, created a vibrant and encouraging environment. The valedictory function on 15th June was a grand celebration with the presence of Bubagra, Shri Pradyot Kishore Manikya, Hon’ble Chairman of TIPRA Motha, as Chief Guest. He was accorded a warm welcome by the school band and was visibly impressed by the talent and discipline of the young athletes. Bubagra praised the school’s commitment to holistic education and announced a donation of ₹1,00,000 in appreciation of St. Xavier’s recent achievement in the national school band competition. The KarateDo Association of Tripura presented a memento to the school in gratitude for hosting the event. Overall championship trophies were awarded to Agartala District Karate Club (boys) and St. Xavier’s Karate Academy (girls). Individual winners were honoured with medals and certificates. The event was a resounding success, showcasing not just sporting excellence but also community participation, organisational efficiency, and student leadership. St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School takes immense pride in having hosted this state-level championship, which fostered sportsmanship, discipline, and unity among the youth of Tripura.
