
WINS FIRST PRIZE FOR MARCHPAST (GIRLS) AT CHARILAM
The 79th Independence Day of our beloved nation was celebrated with great fervor and patriotic zeal at Charilam Ground on 15th August 2025. The celebration witnessed the participation of armed personnel, school contingents, dignitaries, and a large gathering of people who came to mark this historic day with pride and unity. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mr. Bikash Debbarma, the Honourable Minister for Tribal Welfare, Handloom and Statistics, Government of Tripura. Other distinguished guests present were Shri. Siddharth Jaiswal, Honourable District Magistrate of Sepahijala, Shri. Bijoy Debbarma, Honourable Superintendent of Police of Sepahijala, Smti. Supriya Das Datta, Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati of Bishramganj, along with several government officials and dignitaries. The programme began at 9:00 am with the arrival of the Chief Guest, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony and inspection of the parade. This was succeeded by a thrilling Marchpast display by both armed forces and students from various schools. The event was conducted as an inter-school Marchpast competition with nine participating schools. St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, proudly took part in the celebration with two marching contingents – Boys’ and Girls’ teams. The Girls’ Marching Contingent, with their disciplined and synchronized performance, left the audience in awe and emerged victorious, clinching the First Prize for the Best Marchpast, bringing immense pride and glory to the school. The Boys’ contingent also gave a commendable performance. Adding to the grandeur of the day, 180 students from St. Xavier’s School presented a spectacular Patriotic Dance performance, showcasing the spirit of unity, freedom, and love for the nation. Though the performance did not secure any prize, it won the admiration and applause of the audience for its vibrancy and execution. The celebration concluded with the distribution of certificates and trophies by the Chief Guest to the winners of various events. The day was a memorable one for all present, instilling in every heart the values of patriotism, unity, and service to the nation.
