The Annual Sports Meet 2024 of St. Xavier’s Hr. Sec. School Pathaliaghat was held from 27th to 30th November 2024, bringing together the entire school community in a celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and holistic development. Over four days, 96 events were conducted across junior, intermediate, and senior categories for both boys and girls. The students, divided into four houses—Bosco, Gandhi, Nehru, and Teresa—participated with enthusiasm and vigor.
The meet was inaugurated on 27th November 2024 by Fr. Sunny Joseph SDB, who presided as the Chief Guest. The opening ceremony featured a colorful inter-house march past competition, showcasing discipline and coordination. Other highlights included a Drill Display Competition by the girls and a Human Pyramid Competition by the boys.
The event's success was attributed to the meticulous planning of Mr. Shanti Debbarma (Sports Secretary) and Mr. Clement Guria (Assistant Secretary), supported by a team of dedicated teachers. Events were conducted simultaneously across various school venues, ensuring efficiency and timely completion. House captains and student leaders played key roles in organizing participants and maintaining order.
The concluding day, 30th November 2024, witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents in fun events such as the 100-meter race, musical chair, and tug-of-war. Special matches included male teachers vs. boys and lady teachers vs. girls in tug-of-war. Winners were honored with medals and certificates.
Mr. Anthony Debbarma, OSD of Bishramganj, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. He applauded the school’s dedication to holistic development and urged parents to take pride in St. Xavier's School as a leading institution in Sepahijala district. Other dignitaries included Fr. K.K. Joseph, Fr. Babu Stephen, Mr. Nandu, Fr. Suman, Sr. Banri Nongsiej, and Sr. Rihun Sten.
At the event's conclusion, the Champions Trophy was awarded to Bosco House, with Nehru House as runner-up, Teresa House in third place, and Gandhi House in fourth place. Fr. Babu Stephen expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers, praising their efforts in making the event a grand success.
