St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat, a Don Bosco Institution, Lifted the Champion's Trophy in the State Level Inter-School Band Competition, organized by the School Education Department, Government of Tripura, held on 6th December 2024 at Khudiram Govt. Higher Secondary School, Agartala, Tripura. The event witnessed participation from nine boys' teams representing various schools across Tripura, while in the girls' category, two teams competed.
The program began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries on the dais, followed by inspiring messages from three VIPs. The competition was judged by a panel of three eminent personalities from the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and the State Police Department, ensuring a fair and professional evaluation.
In the boys' brass band category, the team from St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, emerged as the champions. Performing fifth on the list, the 29 member team, consisting of students hailing from various interior villages of Tripura, delivered a mesmerizing 12-minute performance that captivated the audience and the judges alike. Their hard work and dedication over the past five months of rigorous daily training under the leadership of Master Joseph Tripura paid off.
The team's extraordinary effort was cheered enthusiastically by the audience as they began their performance. The event culminated with the prize distribution ceremony, where St. Xavier's team was awarded the Champion’s Trophy, medals, and certificates. The team's victory has also earned them the honor of representing Tripura at the Eastern Zone Level Competition to be held in Guwahati.
The team was accompanied by Fr. Babu Stephen and four other dedicated teachers, whose support and guidance were instrumental in their success. This victory marks yet another proud moment for St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat.
