The much-anticipated staff picnic of St. Xavier’s Pathaliaghat took place on 7th December 2024 at Khumlwng, a picturesque destination known for its scenic beauty and vibrant flower gardens. A total of 45 staff members, including two nuns, one brother, and our esteemed Fr. Babu, attended the picnic, which turned out to be a delightful and memorable event.
The Picnic Committee, headed by Mr. Pradesh and Ms. Priti, meticulously planned and executed every detail of the outing. Generously sponsored by Fr. Principal, the picnic began with a prayer led by Fr. Babu at 9:00 AM. The school's Bolero pick-up vehicle, driven by Mr. Mafiz, transported all necessary supplies to the venue.
The group left the school premises in a bus at 9:00 AM and arrived at Khumlwng around 10:00 AM. Upon arrival, the gentlemen enthusiastically took charge of cooking, while the ladies explored the park, capturing scenic moments through photos and Instagram reels.
The picnic was a "cooking picnic," and the menu was a feast to behold: rice, dal, vegetables, green salad, papad, chicken and pork specialties, traditional Tripuri dishes, sweets, cool drinks, fruits, and more. The appointed teachers prepared the meal on time, showcasing teamwork and dedication.
Before the meal, Fr. Babu led a prayer, expressing gratitude and encouraging everyone to extend the spirit of collaboration in both school and daily life. The meal was a highlight of the day, with everyone relishing the delicious food and appreciating the efforts of those who prepared it.
Post-lunch, the group relaxed in the park, enjoying the serene surroundings. It was a moment of bonding, relaxation, and strengthening the camaraderie among the staff.
The picnic concluded with everyone returning to the school by 6:00 PM, filled with gratitude and fond memories. The staff extended heartfelt thanks to Fr. Babu for his unwavering support and generosity in making the picnic a resounding success.
In Summary: The Khumlwng staff picnic was not just an outing but a celebration of unity, teamwork, and shared joy, leaving everyone refreshed and re-energized.
