The inauguration of the new scholastic year 2025–26 at St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, was held with great enthusiasm and reverence on 7th April 2025 at 9:00 AM in the school hall. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Fr. K.K. Joseph (Rector), Fr. Babu Stephen (Principal), Fr. K.A. Thomas (Vice-Principal), along with the sisters, teacher representatives, student representatives, brothers, parents, teachers, and students. The event commenced with a warm note of introduction by Ms. Priyanka Debbarma, who also efficiently compered the programme. A spiritually uplifting prayer led by Br. Agustin Pariong set a solemn and reflective tone for the day's proceedings. This was followed by the lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom. All dignitaries joined in this sacred ritual, adding a divine aura to the celebration. Fr. Babu Stephen, the Principal, then delivered the words of welcome, in which he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who is part of the St. Xavier's family. He especially thanked the parents for their unwavering support and collaboration in the school’s various endeavours. He extended a cordial welcome to all students, teachers, and parents for the new academic session. Fr. Babu also took this opportunity to announce the names of the class teachers for the year 2025–26. Following this, Fr. K.K. Joseph distributed the teacher’s log books, diaries, and students’ attendance registers to the staff. In his inspiring address, Fr. Joseph emphasized the importance of quality and value-based education, urging both students and teachers to give their best in contributing to the life and mission of St. Xavier's School. The ceremony concluded with a few important announcements by Fr. Babu, after which Ms. Priyanka Debbarma delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all those who helped make the event a grand success.
