The election of Class Captains, Vice-Captains, and School Captains for the academic year 2025–26 was conducted with enthusiasm and discipline at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat on 24th April 2025. The event was a meaningful step toward promoting leadership and responsibility among students. In the morning session, students from Classes 1 to 12 participated in the election of their Class Captains and Vice-Captains. The elections were held within their respective classrooms under the close supervision of the class teachers. According to the school’s guidelines, all Class Captains elected from Classes 1 to 12 were boys, while the Vice-Captains were girls. The criteria considered during the selection included: Leadership skills Academic performance Positive influence in the classroom Willingness to serve others A gentle and approachable character These values were emphasized to ensure that the elected student leaders would serve as role models for their peers. In the afternoon, the school community—comprising students from Classes 6 to 12 and all teachers—assembled in the school’s Assembly Hall for the election of the School Captain and Vice-Captain. From among the gathered students, six boys and six girls were chosen as eligible candidates based on their active participation, leadership abilities, and conduct. The voting took place by a show of hands, reflecting the school's commitment to democratic practices. The election results were as follows: School Captain (Boys): Bijoy Molsom (Unanimously elected) Vice-Captain (Boys): Khasrang Jamatia School Captain (Girls): Nimi Jamatia Vice-Captain (Girls): Ruchika Debbarma Acknowledgement by the Principal The Principal, Fr. Babu Stephen, who presided over the election process along with the support of several teachers, addressed the gathering and thanked the students for their active cooperation in the democratic selection of their leaders. He also expressed his appreciation to the newly elected Captains and Vice-Captains for accepting their responsibilities and their promise to collaborate with the school and its leadership throughout the academic year. Fr. Babu emphasized the importance of student leadership in fostering a positive and disciplined school environment and encouraged the elected leaders to serve with dedication and humility. The event concluded on a high note, with a shared sense of joy and satisfaction among students and teachers alike. It was truly a wonderful and memorable day for the school community, as all felt proud to have elected the right persons to lead.
