St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat
On 23rd July 2025, St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat had the rare privilege of welcoming two esteemed dignitaries from the Shillong Province – Fr. John Zosiama SDB, the Provincial, and Fr. Genesius Wanniang SDB, the Economer. Their visit brought great joy and blessings to the entire school community. The day began with Fr. Provincial presiding over the Holy Eucharist for the hostellers in the chapel. It was a deeply spiritual and meaningful celebration, offering an opportunity for the boarders to pray and reflect under his guidance. Following the Eucharistic celebration, both guests were given a warm and respectful welcome at the school campus. Fr. Babu, the Principal, cordially welcomed them to his office in the presence of all the staff members. In a brief interaction, Fr. Provincial addressed the teachers, expressing his heartfelt gratitude for their selfless service and dedication to the growth and mission of the school. He also shared a short but inspiring thought, encouraging them in their vocation as educators. The formal welcome ceremony continued in the school assembly. With a thunderous applause from the student body, Fr. Babu once again extended a heartfelt welcome to both Fr. Provincial and Fr. Economer. As a mark of respect and cultural pride, the guests were presented with Tripuri traditional risa and school scarves by the students. During the assembly, Fr. John Zosiama SDB addressed the students with an inspiring message on the theme of “Sharing and Caring.” He appreciated the students for their hard work and congratulated them on their good academic results. He acknowledged the various facilities provided by the school and urged everyone to make the best use of them for their holistic development. Fr. Genesius Wanniang SDB, the Economer, also spoke to the gathering. Though brief, his message carried great depth. He emphasized the importance of being consistent in one’s efforts, especially in academics. He encouraged students to develop the habit of regular study and perseverance. The event concluded with Fr. Babu thanking both the dignitaries on behalf of the entire school community. He assured them of the school’s prayers and support in their mission. The visit of Fr. Provincial and Fr. Economer was a momentous occasion, leaving the staff and students spiritually enriched and motivated. It was truly a day of grace and blessing for St. Xavier’s School.
