AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON GOVT. SCHEMES FOR STAFF AND STUDENTS

An Awareness Programme on Government Schemes and Scholarships for students of Classes VI to XII was organized at St. Xavier's School, Pathaliaghat on 11th October 2025. The session was conducted by Ms. Jaba Debbarma, an experienced resource person well-versed in various educational schemes and scholarship opportunities available for students, especially for tribal children in Tripura. A total of 700 students, along with all the teaching staff, participated enthusiastically in the programme held in the school assembly hall. The session commenced with a short welcoming ceremony. Fr. Babu Stephen, Principal, warmly welcomed Ms. Jaba by presenting her with a school scarf. Additionally, Ms. Raima and Ms. Hamari honoured the guest with a Tripuri traditional Risa, showcasing the school’s respect and cultural tradition. Ms. Jaba began her session with a PowerPoint presentation, supported by visual images, charts, and captions, which made the content easy to understand and engaging for the students. She explained in detail the various scholarships and government schemes available for students belonging to tribal and other marginalized communities and encouraged them to make proper use of these opportunities for their educational advancement. The session was highly interactive and informative. Students raised many questions and doubts, all of which were patiently clarified and addressed by the resource person. The teachers too expressed great interest in understanding the procedures and eligibility criteria for these schemes to better guide their students in the future. This short yet meaningful programme proved to be enriching and insightful for both students and staff. It opened new avenues of awareness regarding the educational benefits provided by the government, ensuring that students do not miss out on the support they are entitled to. In his concluding remarks, Fr. Babu Stephen expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Jaba Debbarma for her valuable time, expertise, and willingness to share her knowledge with the students of St. Xavier’s. He acknowledged that the session was worth attending and had provided valuable inputs that would greatly benefit the students in planning their academic future. The programme ended on a positive note, with a renewed sense of awareness and motivation among the students to pursue their studies with greater confidence and informed guidance.
