The Children’s Day Celebration at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat on 14th November 2025 took on a joyful and innovative form with the organization of a School Cooking Picnic in the campus. The entire programme was planned and coordinated under the guidance and initiative of Rev. Fr. Babu Stephen, Principal, whose creative idea of hosting a campus-wide cooking picnic gave the students a refreshing and memorable experience. The picnic was organized class-wise, with different designated spots allotted across the school grounds for every class. Early in the morning, the campus came alive with excitement as class teachers, students, and supporting staff gathered in their respective areas, bringing with them all the necessary ingredients, utensils, and materials. Under the guidance of teachers and with full enthusiasm from the students, various delicious and sumptuous meals were prepared. The aroma of traditional dishes filled the air, giving the entire school a festive and homely atmosphere. The whole campus was vibrant and bustling, with students and teachers cooking side by side, showcasing their culinary skills and creativity. It was truly heartwarming to witness teamwork, collaboration, and unity, as every student contributed their share towards preparing the food. Laughter, music, lively conversations, and the clattering of utensils created a perfect picnic ambience within the school premises. Apart from cooking, the joy of sharing and eating together strengthened the bond among students and staff. The picnic not only brought out the spirit of togetherness but also made Children’s Day meaningful and special for everyone. By preparing and enjoying their own meals, students learnt responsibility, cooperation, and the joy of collective celebration. The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation to Rev. Fr. Babu Stephen, whose thoughtful planning and inspiring leadership made this unique celebration possible.
