FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

A Faculty Development Programme was successfully organized by St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, on 9th April 2026, for the teachers of the Don Bosco Schools of Pathaliaghat, Herma, Naba Sardar, Bishramganj, and Pitra. A total of 145 teachers actively participated in this in-service training programme, which commenced at 9:00 a.m. and concluded at 3:00 p.m. The programme began with a warm welcome by Fr. Babu Stephen, who greeted the resource persons and introduced them to the participants. The esteemed trainers, Mr. Sunny Mawlong and Ms. Eva Warjri from Hundredfold Academy, Shillong, were felicitated with bouquets, traditional Risa, and school scarves by representatives of the participating schools. The training sessions were both enriching and engaging, focusing on key aspects of classroom management and life skills—areas that are highly relevant to the daily teaching-learning process. The resource persons effectively shared their expertise through PowerPoint presentations, meaningful video clippings, and practical insights drawn from their experience. A notable feature of the programme was its interactive and activity-based approach. Group discussions, collaborative exercises, and hands-on activities made the sessions lively, dynamic, and highly participative. These methods ensured that all participants remained actively involved and benefited from the training. The well-planned schedule, along with sufficient breaks, helped maintain enthusiasm and prevented fatigue among the teachers. The conducive weather and serene school environment further enhanced the overall experience of the programme. The presence of Fr. Babu, Fr. Suman, Sr. Rihun, and Sr. Lisphom added significance and encouragement to the sessions. Participants were provided with refreshments and a sumptuous lunch, which contributed to keeping them energized throughout the day. At the conclusion of the programme, Fr. Suman delivered an inspiring parting message, encouraging teachers to implement the insights gained in their classrooms. Ms. Elemi from Bishramganj proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of all participants, expressing gratitude to the organizers and resource persons. Fr. Babu Stephen concluded the programme by thanking all the principals, including Fr. Remol, Fr. Sunny, Fr. Suman, Sr. Banrilin, Sr. Biji and Sr. Lisphom, for deputing their teachers for this valuable training. As a token of appreciation, Mr. Sunny Mawlong and Ms. Eva Warjri were presented with some honorarium by Fr. Babu. All participants were awarded certificates of participation. The programme concluded with a group photograph in front of the school, marking the success of the event. The Faculty Development Programme was indeed a fruitful and enriching experience, made possible through the collective efforts of all involved. Long Live Don Bosco!
