A staff meeting of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, was held on 11th April 2026 in the Principal’s Office at 10:30 a.m. The meeting began with an opening prayer led by the principal. In his prayer, he thanked God for blessing all the staff members with good health and strength. He prayed for wisdom and guidance so that every staff member may become a capable leader, able to monitor, mentor, and guide the students with dedication and responsibility. He also prayed that all teachers may work together in unity, commitment, and a spirit of service for the progress of the institution and the holistic development of the students. The principal warmly welcomed all the staff members present. He acknowledged that though some members were unable to attend, such general meetings are important and normally require the presence of all. He invited everyone to participate in the session with openness, sincerity, and cooperation. Open Discussion The staff members engaged in a meaningful discussion regarding the present condition of the school. Many appreciated the positive atmosphere of the institution, especially the beautiful surroundings, cleanliness, greenery, and abundance of flowers, which create a peaceful and conducive environment for learning. At the same time, certain concerns were raised for immediate attention. It was noted that school discipline is gradually weakening. A serious issue was reported where some students were found carrying alcohol bottles during school hours. The quality of teaching was also discussed, with a need for further improvement to meet present educational standards. During examinations, students were found cheating easily due to inadequate supervision. The principal strongly emphasized that discipline must be strictly implemented and consistently followed by all staff members. Key Decisions and Suggestions To address the issues discussed, several important decisions were taken: • Students should bring their own water bottles to avoid unnecessary movement outside classrooms. • Any student leaving the classroom without permission during a period will be marked absent for that period. • Students leaving the classroom must obtain a Red Card from the subject teacher; class captains are not authorized to grant permission. • Teachers should be informed when parents frequently meet the Principal regarding issues such as absenteeism, lack of homework, or behaviour concerns. • Students, especially girls, must maintain proper uniform discipline, including ribbons and neat appearance. • The principal reminded all staff that negligence of duty may invite disciplinary action, including termination if necessary. • Class Teachers for the academic year 2026 were officially announced. • Teachers should not leave classrooms unattended while meeting parents; another teacher must supervise in their absence. • Parents are not allowed to enter classrooms without prior permission. • Students who fail in subjects will be given an opportunity to rewrite examinations, and promotion may be considered based on improvement. Introduction of New Technology A major highlight of the meeting was the announcement of advanced technological facilities being introduced in the school. These include Drone Flying, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Virtual Reality (VR). This marks a significant milestone, as only a few schools have access to such modern resources. It is a matter of pride that St. Xavier’s School has been blessed with these opportunities to enhance learning, creativity, and innovation among students. Teachers were encouraged to motivate and guide students to make the best use of these facilities and prepare themselves as skilled, innovative, and future-ready individuals. Announcements The following announcements were also made: • Holidays were declared on 14th and 15th April 2026. • For lady teachers, the new uniform will be Salwar, inspired by the model followed at Don Bosco Nandanagar. The arrangements will be coordinated by Madam Roseline Debbarma and team. • For gents, uniform arrangements will be coordinated by Sir Sudharson Debbarma and team. All teachers were requested to cooperate and follow the new uniform guidelines to maintain unity, discipline, and a professional appearance. Conclusion The meeting concluded with a strong reminder from the principal that discipline, responsibility, and cooperation among staff are essential for the smooth functioning and continued growth of the school. All staff members were encouraged to work together with renewed commitment for the betterment of the students and the institution.
