SCHOOL ELECTION OF THE CAPTAINS 2026

The election for the School Captain, Vice-Captain, and various secretaries of St. Xavier’s Hr. Sec. School, Pathaliaghat was successfully conducted on 4th May 2026 in the school hall. This marked a historic occasion as it was the first-ever election in the school conducted through a secret ballot system. A total of 700 students from Classes VII to XII participated in the voting process. The entire election was carried out in a highly systematic and professional manner under the able coordination of Mr. Clinton, who meticulously organized and supervised the proceedings. There were twenty candidates in total, comprising ten boys and ten girls, who contested for various leadership positions. Prior to the commencement of the election, all students and teachers were clearly briefed and instructed regarding the election procedures. Fr. Babu Stephen addressed the gathering, offering valuable guidance to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the election. He also expressed his appreciation to all the candidates for their willingness to serve the school community. To facilitate an orderly process, two separate polling centres were set up—one for boys and another for girls. The voting was conducted in secrecy, and as a mark of participation, each student’s index finger was marked with ink after casting their vote. The NCC cadets played a commendable role in maintaining discipline, monitoring the process, and safeguarding the polling centres throughout the day. After the completion of voting, the sealed ballot boxes were taken to the principal’s office. The counting of votes was carried out by appointed teachers under the strict supervision of observers and scrutineers, ensuring transparency and fairness. The results of the election were officially announced by Fr. Babu Stephen during the morning assembly on 5th May 2026. The winners were greeted with thunderous applause by the entire school community. Master Kunal Jamatia was elected as the School Captain, while Ms. Salomi Debbarma was elected as the School Vice-Captain. The election process was widely appreciated for its smooth execution and fairness. Students expressed great enthusiasm and happiness, recognizing the importance of voting and democratic participation. In his concluding remarks, Fr. Babu Stephen extended his heartfelt thanks to all the students for their active participation, the teachers for their cooperation, and especially Mr. Clinton Tripura, the NCC cadets, and the hostel boys for their dedicated efforts in organizing and managing the election process successfully. Overall, the event was a resounding success, instilling a sense of responsibility, leadership, and democratic values among the students.
