The Inauguration and Welcome Programme for the newly admitted Class XI students of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat was held with great enthusiasm and warmth on 18th May 2026. The event marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the students and reflected the vibrant spirit of the institution. The programme commenced with a warm and heartfelt welcome extended to the Class XI students on the stage by the Principal, Fr. Babu Stephen. As a gesture of acceptance and encouragement, he personally presented a school diary to each student, symbolizing their formal entry into the St. Xavier’s family. The ceremony was prayerfully initiated by Ms. Redima of Class XII, invoking God’s blessings upon the gathering. The welcome performance by the hostel boys beautifully set the tone for the day, creating an atmosphere of joy and belonging. The entire programme was skillfully compered by Master Kunal Jamatia, the School Captain, who guided the proceedings with confidence and clarity. Fr. Babu Stephen addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, warmly welcoming the newcomers and expressing his appreciation for their trust and eagerness to be a part of the institution. He encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities provided and to grow in knowledge, discipline, and values. A meaningful lamp-lighting ceremony followed, involving both staff and students, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. The cultural segment added vibrancy to the occasion, with students from Classes VI to XII presenting a variety of colourful and traditional dances, making the celebration lively and memorable. Master Anirudh of Class XII shared his personal experiences at St. Xavier’s, offering words of motivation and reassurance to the new students. The introduction of the Class XI teachers, Ms. Tulsi and Ms. Sarojini, was another important highlight. They were formally entrusted with their responsibilities through the presentation of the logbook and attendance register. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Tina Rani, the Vice-Captain of the school, who expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The entire programme was lively, meaningful, and well-organized, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
