St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation on 19th June 2026 from 9:00 a.m. onwards. The programme witnessed the active involvement of students from Classes VI to XII, along with teachers and the Principal. A total of 900 students participated in the event. The Yoga session was animated by Mr. Shanti Debbarma along with the hostel boys, who skillfully guided the participants through various yoga exercises and postures. The students were seated house-wise and separately for boys and girls, ensuring discipline and smooth conduct of the programme. The session began with breathing exercises, focusing on proper inhalation and exhalation techniques. This was followed by a series of physical exercises and yoga postures that promoted flexibility, concentration, and overall well-being. The participants spent nearly 45 minutes practicing yoga in a serene and disciplined atmosphere, creating a deeper awareness of the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy body and mind. Addressing the gathering at the end of the session, Fr. Babu Stephen, the Principal, thanked all the students and staff members for their active participation. He expressed his happiness and appreciation in seeing the students and teachers perform the yoga exercises with dedication and enthusiasm. He also highlighted the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life for physical fitness, mental peace, and emotional balance.
