St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, organized a vibrant and colourful Traditional Food Festival on 13th August 2026, with the enthusiastic participation of students and teachers from Classes VIII to XII. The festival featured 17 beautifully decorated food stalls, each presenting a delightful variety of traditional and locally prepared delicacies. The inaugural ceremony commenced at 9:30 a.m. and was compered by Sr. Kyrkhulang Sutnga FMA. Sr. Banrilin Nongsiej VSDB, Headmistress of Don Bosco School, Bishramganj, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Fr. Babu Stephen, Principal, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, teachers, students, parents and all those present. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone for their wholehearted cooperation and participation in making the event possible. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest appreciated the initiative and encouraged the students to value and preserve their rich traditional food culture. She then officially declared the Traditional Food Festival 2026 open. The beautifully decorated stalls immediately captured the attention of everyone. A wide range of traditional and popular delicacies was displayed, including different varieties of meat dishes, chicken, pork, momo, locally prepared rice, traditional cuisine, fruit salads, colourful and refreshing juices, panipuri, and many other mouth-watering preparations. Each stall reflected the creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm of the students and their teachers. The entire campus remained lively and festive throughout the day. Students moved from stall to stall, enjoying dishes of their choice and sharing the joy with their friends and teachers. Parents also thronged the stalls and happily enjoyed the food together with their wards. The cheerful atmosphere, colourful decorations and tempting aromas made the school campus a wonderful place for community celebration. The respective class teachers played a significant role in coordinating and guiding the students, ensuring that the stalls were properly managed and the programme proceeded smoothly. Their cooperation, together with the hard work and creativity of the students, contributed greatly to the success of the festival. The event was well organized and highly successful. The school campus proved to be an ideal setting for such a lively celebration of food, culture, creativity and togetherness. By the end of the festival, all the food prepared and displayed at the stalls was sold out, reflecting the tremendous response from students, teachers and parents. The Traditional Food Festival 2026 was not merely an occasion to taste delicious food; it was a celebration of traditional cuisine, local culture, teamwork, creativity and community spirit. Everyone went home happy and satisfied, carrying with them pleasant memories of a joyful and memorable day.
